Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment for psychotherapy or supervision services?

New and current therapy or supervision clients can schedule with my admin superstar Holly at info@courageousyou.us.

What is the cost for therapy and supervision services?

I offer sliding scale pricing to best meet the needs of the unique clients I work with. Here’s more information on how to select the right scale for you.

Reduced Rate:

For individuals this would be $150, supervisees $125, couples $175, and polycules $200

Consider paying the reduced rate (lower end of the scale) if many of the following are true:

  • I’m sick or disabled and that impacts my ability to work / earn money.
  • My race, ethnicity, skin color or gender(s) does impact my income
  • I have non-optional health care costs to cover
  • I am struggling to pay more than minimums on debt
  • I have student loans, and I was among the first in my family to go to college
  • I support others besides myself on my income
  • My family has few or no assets such as a home or retirement accounts
  • I have no family or access to family

Regular Rate:

For individuals this would be $175, supervisees $150, couples $200, and polycules $225

Consider paying the regular rate (mid scale) if many of the following are true:

  • I make a middle income relative to my area’s average income
  • I choose to go out to eat or drink weekly (or more).
  • My race, ethnicity, skin color or gender doesn’t impact my income
  • I can cover my basic needs regularly
  • I’m able bodied
  • I have student loans and most people in my family have higher education
  • Family has assets, such as a house and/or parents have retirement accounts

Supporter Rate:

For individuals this would be $200, supervisees $175, couples $225, and polycules $250

Consider paying the supporter rate (higher end of the scale) if many of the following are true:

  • I make a high income relative to my area’s average income
  • I have a degree(s) without having had loans.
  • I have high earning power (even if I’m not exercising it today)
  • I live partially, mostly, or all off unearned / gifted income
  • My family has plentiful assets, like investments
  • Someone else paid or pays my rent/mortgage

How long are sessions?

The average session length is 50 minutes.  This can be lengthened due to emergency situations, therapeutic goals, or if there are more people present in a session (couples, families, polycules, etc).

Why is a scheduling deposit required to schedule appointments online?

A $1 scheduling deposit is used to reserve the appointment time with your provider and to ensure there is a working credit card on file for services.

If you keep your scheduled appointment, or cancel or reschedule your appointment with more than 48 hours notice, the credit will be applied towards your kept service(s) co-pay or fee.

If you miss, cancel, or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, the credit will be applied towards the late cancellation fee.

Are scheduling deposits required when scheduling appointments by phone?

When scheduling a New Client Intake Session by phone, we will charge your credit card to be kept on file ($1.00 at the time of scheduling). The $1.00 will be credited to your chart within our electronic health record.

If you keep your scheduled appointment, or cancel or reschedule your appointment with more than 48 hours notice, the credit will be applied towards your next kept service co-pay or fee.

If you miss, cancel, or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, your credit card will be charged the remaining balance to cover the applicable late cancellation fee.

What are your late cancellation fees?

If you miss, cancel, or reschedule your appointment with less than 48 hours notice, a late cancellation fee will be applied.

Fee: $150

Our cancellation policy will allow one late cancellation fee to be waived per calendar year in the event of illness or emergency.

What are telehealth services?

Telehealth services, also known as telemedicine, teletherapy and telecounseling, are online/virtual counseling and therapy services provided in real time through a secure, HIPAA compliant live video conferencing system.

How do telehealth services work?

All you need is internet access to connect to your telehealth appointment by smartphone, laptop, desktop, or tablet. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a “new booking” email that will include the link and instructions on how to join your session.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I accept a variety of insurance plans including Regence, Kaiser, First Choice Health, with more coming soon. Email my amazing admin Holly at info@courageousyou.us for more information and to see if your insurance plan will cover visits with me.

Are telehealth services the best option for me?

Telehealth services are a convenient option for people with busy schedules, people who live or work a considerable distance from our office, people with chronic health conditions, or people who just prefer the flexibility that telehealth offers. Due to COVID, all services are offered via telehealth services only at this time.

If you are a new client, and are not sure if telehealth services are right for you, contact us to schedule a free 10-15 minute consultation.

If you are a current client, and are interested in switching or adding telehealth services, talk with your provider.

What type of appointment should I schedule?

If you are scheduling your first appointment, please schedule an Intake Session or phone consult to assess if this is a good fit for your needs.

If you have already completed an Intake Session, please schedule an Individual, Couple, or Polycule session.
