Are you ready to embark on a transformative healing journey that honors and centers your queer identity? Are you looking for a space where you can explore, heal, and grow in a community of like-minded individuals who understand the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ folx? I’m thrilled to announce a new Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP) group launching in January 2025, designed specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals who want to heal from past traumas, rediscover self-love, and cultivate a deeper sense of belonging!

Why This Group and Why Now?

As a queer therapist, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of homophobia, transphobia, and systemic discrimination on our community’s mental health. Many of us carry the scars of internalized shame, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. These wounds often run deep, shaped by years of being othered, misunderstood, or marginalized. Traditional therapy has its place, but sometimes, we need a different kind of tool to break through. That’s where Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP) comes in.

KAP is a powerful modality that allows for the gentle uncovering and processing of traumatic memories in a controlled, supportive environment. For LGBTQIA+ folx, it offers a unique opportunity to heal from queer-specific trauma and find a deeper connection to our true selves. And when this work is done in a group of fellow queer humans? The potential for healing expands exponentially!

What Makes Group KAP So Powerful?

“We are all just walking each other home.” — Ram Dass

Healing in community is a radical act of love and resistance. In a queer-only KAP group, you’ll find a space where your experiences are understood without explanation. Where your stories are heard, your truths are validated, and your identities are celebrated. This is more than just therapy; it’s a collective journey of healing, discovery, and liberation.

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy in a group setting offers:

Profound Emotional Processing: The unique properties of ketamine promote neuroplasticity, allowing us to reframe deeply held beliefs and emotions. This opens up the possibility for profound emotional breakthroughs that can be transformative, especially when shared within a group setting.

Deep Connection and Community Care: Imagine sitting in a virtual circle with fellow queer folx, all experiencing similar journeys of healing and growth. This shared experience fosters a profound sense of interconnectedness, reducing feelings of isolation and building a community that understands you on a deep level.

Amplified Healing Potential: The presence of others who share similar struggles and triumphs amplifies the therapeutic process. As each person shares their insights and experiences, the collective energy magnifies the healing, fostering resilience, self-acceptance, and a deep sense of belonging.

What to Expect from the Courageous You LGBTQIA+ KAP Program:

This 6-week group program kicks off on January 4th, 2025, and will run every Saturday morning from 8:30-10:30 or 11am PST through February 8th. All preparation and integration sessions will be 2 hours long (from 8:30-10:30am PST) and the two dosing sessions will be 2.5 hours long (8:30-11AM PST). Each session will be held virtually, from the comfort and safety of your own home, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the process.

Here’s a breakdown of the program:

1. Preparation Phase: We’ll start with two 2-hour preparation sessions on Saturday January 4th and 11th from 8:30-10:30AM PST) to get everyone grounded and ready for the journey ahead. We’ll cover everything from creating a safe and supportive space in your home, to intention setting, and lifestyle preparation. You’ll also receive a comprehensive workbook to guide you through each phase of the treatment. This is where we build trust, establish group norms, and start to form the deep bonds that will carry us through the entire experience.

2. Dosing Phase: Over the next four weeks, we will alternate between 2.5 hour dosing sessions (Saturday January 18th and February 1st from 8:30-11am PST) and 2-hour integration sessions (Saturday January 25th and February 8th from 8:30-10:30am PST). During these sessions, we’ll explore the unique healing properties of ketamine and how it can unlock new perspectives, release long-held trauma, and help you reconnect with your authentic self. The dosing sessions will be deeply supported and held in a way that honors each participant’s journey.

3. Integration Phase: Integration is where the magic solidifies. The Saturday after each dosing session, we’ll come together to share, process, and ground the insights and experiences that arise. This phase helps turn the psychedelic experience into lasting change, offering a space to make meaning out of the experience, understand new emotions, and integrate new ways of being.

4. Ongoing Support: Once the group concludes, we’ll reassess your treatment goals and explore the possibility of continuing the work together, whether in further group settings or individual sessions, to ensure that your healing continues.

What’s Included?

– A private medical screening with Journey Clinical to determine eligibility. If deemed ineligible Journey Clinical reimburses your fee.

Cost and Accessibility

To make this healing modality more accessible to our community, the total cost for this comprehensive program is now $1418, which can be paid via cash, credit, or HSA cards. This is significantly lower than most private KAP programs, and we’re offering flexible payment options to ensure more folx can participate.

Healing is a revolutionary act, especially in a world that tells us we don’t belong. This group isn’t just about healing from what’s hurt us; it’s about reclaiming our right to joy, connection, and wholeness. It’s about building a community that sees us, hears us, and celebrates us in our entirety.

Spaces are limited (4 participants maximum) to ensure an intimate and supportive group experience, so reach out today to secure your spot! Let’s walk each other home.
